To create an atmosphere of discipline by passing a clear message that no act of ragging in college premises.

OBJECTIVES

  1. To prohibit any conduct by any student or students whether by words spoken or written or by an act which has the effect of teasing, treating or handling with rudeness a fresher or any other student.
  2. To keep a constant eye and vigilance over ragging so as to prevents its occurrence.
  3. To address any ragging issues immediately and taken action as advised by the committee.
  4. Anti-Ragging Cell executive meeting will held at four time in a year.
  5. To create awareness about ragging & ensure a student-friendly environment at all times.
  6. To facilitate campus monitoring to ensure nil ragging.

ANTI-RAGGING POLICY

According to the UGC Regulation on restriction the nuisance of Ragging in Higher Institutions, 2009, ragging constitutes one or more of any of the following acts:

  1. Any conduct by any student or students whether by words spoken or written or by an act which has the effect of teasing, treating or handling with rudeness a fresher or any other student.
  2. Any act by a senior student that prevents, disrupts or disturbs the regular academic activity of any other student or a fresher.
  3. Exploiting the services of a fresher or any other student for completing the academic tasks assigned to an individual or a group of students.
  4. Any act of financial extortion or forceful expenditure burden put on a fresher or any other student by students.
  5. Any act of physical abuse including all variants of it: sexual abuse, homosexual assaults, stripping, forcing obscene and lewd acts, gestures, causing bodily harm or any other danger to health or person;
  6. Any act or abuse by spoken words, emails, post, public insults which would also include deriving perverted pleasure, vicarious or sadistic thrill from actively or passively participating in the discomfiture to fresher or any other student.
  7. Any act of physical or mental abuse targeted at another student (fresher) on the ground of colour, race, religion, caste, sexual orientation, appearance, nationality, regional origins, place of birth, and place of residence or economic background.

PUNISHMENTS

According to the UGC Regulation on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions, depending on the nature and gravity of the guilt established by the Anti-Ragging Squad, those found guilty may be awarded one or more of the following punishments,

  1. Warning , writing apology letter
  2. Suspension from attending classes and academic privileges.
  3. Withholding/ withdrawing scholarship/ fellowship and other benefits.
  4. Debarring from appearing in any test/ examination or other evaluation process.
  5. Withholding results.
  6. Debarring from representing the institution in any regional, national or international meet, tournament, youth festival, etc.
  7. Suspension.
  8. Cancellation of admission.
  9. Rustication from the institution for period ranging from one to four semesters.
  10. Expulsion from the institution and consequent debarring from admission to any other institution for a specified period.

FUNCTIONS

  1. To create awareness among students with respect to ill effects of ragging and necessary rules and regulations of the college for discipline academic environment.
  2. To address any ragging issues immediately and take action as recommended by the committee.
  3. To ensure vigilance with respect to ragging and indiscipline.

Ragging is a criminal offence, Ragging is strictly prohibited by State and Central Government. Hence senior students are instructed not to involve any ragging either directly or indirectly inside or outside the campus. If anybody found involved in ragging then His/Her whole life will be spoiled.

  1. Imprisonment up to three years.
  2. Dismissal from the College.

First and second year students are requested to give complaint to the Principal or Anti Ragging Co-ordinator and Members. If any ragging activity done by Senior or Colleagues inside or outside the campus.

Ragging means any conduct by any student whether by words spoken or written or by an act which has the effect of testing, treating or handling with rudeness a fresher or any other student or indulging in rowdy or undisciplined activities by any student or students which causes or is likely to cause or is likely to cause annoyance, hardship or psychological harm or to raise fear in any fresher or any other student or asking any student to do any act such will not in the ordinary course do and which has the effect of causing or generating a sense of shame, torment or embarrassment so as to adversely affect the physique.
