VISION
In an increasingly technology world, academic research is the foundation of any nation's economic success. The college takes concerted efforts to align its mission with the national goal of achieving technological self-reliance by fostering interdisciplinary research and institutional collaborative research.
MISSION
The IPR cell promotes a good IP strategy in order to protect the intellectual property of the College's large base of informed faculty and exceptionally brilliant students. The college's regular project and research activities provide the potential for innovation. So, we're in the process of establishing organised progressions to find, stimulate, and foster innovation.
Research is believed in the Institute as practice of profession and not career. IPR cell is here to provide relevant, timely and targeted support to originators in protecting their IPR and to enhancement confidence in generating IPR to make our Institute Independence in Finances.
Objectives
- Raising awareness of intellectual property rights among faculty and students at the college.
- To conduct workshops, seminars and training course of IPR
- To disseminate knowledge on patents, patent regime in India and abroad and registration aspects.
- To impart training on future endeavours regarding patent filing processes.
- To inspire faculty members and scholars to go for patentable works
A PRIMER ON INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY (IP)
Intellectual property relates to mental creations including designs, music, art, technical innovations, and literature. It refers to the legal rights associated with intellectual endeavour in the sectors of industry, science, literature, and the arts.
Patents
A patent is a constitutional right granted by the government to the patentee for a limited period of time in exchange for full disclosure of their invention and the prohibition of others from making, using, selling, or importing the patented product or procedure for producing that product without his permission.
Designs
'Design' refers only to the features of shape, configuration, pattern, or ornament, or composition of lines or colour, or combination thereof, applied to any article, whether two dimensional or three dimensional, or in both procedures, by any industrial process or means, whether manual, mechanical, or chemical, separate or joint, which in the finished article appeal to and are judged solely by the eyes.
Trademarks
A trademark is a photographic symbol that can be a word, a signature, a name, a device, a label, numbers, or a colour combination used by one company to distinguish its goods or services from comparable goods or services produced by another company.
Copyrights
Copyright is a legal privilege granted to creators of literary, theatrical, musical, and creative works, as well as makers of film and sound recordings. In truth, it is a set of rights that includes the rights to reproduce, communicate with the public, modify, and translate work. The rights composition may vary slightly based on the work.
Geographical indications
Geographical indications of products are defined as that component of industrial property that relates to a geographical indicator pointing to a country or a location within that country as the nation or place of origin for that product.
Plant variety protection
Plant variations are safe, farmers' and plant breeders' rights are protected, and new plant types are being developed to boost your spirits.
Semiconductor Integrated circuits layout - Design
Protection is provided for layout design in semiconductor integrated circuits, as well as related topics.

On 22nd September 2023 IPR Committee organized one day Faculty Orientation Program on Relevance of IPR in the context of research and development. The session special address denoted In India, there are 7 types of intellectual property rights, namely – copyright, trademarks, patents, geographical indications, plant varieties, industrial designs and semiconductor integrated circuit layout designs and the programme was extremely beneficial for teaching faculty members.

This program was held on 26.04.2023 at our college premises and Mr. A Seetharaman Examiner of Patents and Designs, Chennai, Government of India has acted as a resource person and mentioned the how to get individual patent, Biological, Commercial and Chemical patent in his special talk about software patent related information also very useful in our students and faculties. The IPR day of online orientation program successfully completed with help of our management.
STATE LEVEL AWARENESS PROGRAM ON INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS (IPR) ONLINE

The State Level Awareness Program On Intellectual Property Rights (Ipr) Online was conducted by the IPR Committee of Arignar Anna College (Arts and Science), Krishnagiri on 14.10.2022 and Smt. SUSI K. NIPAM Officer, Chennai, invited as a resource person and she delivered her talk on copyrighting literary works, one can protect one's creative philosophies. Trademarks play an significant role in promoting and protecting intellectual property. By gaining people's trust they are able to gain recognition for their product. Copyright protects original works. In this awareness program there are about 70 faculties and 300 students were participated and benefited.
